Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert for iPad. Flauberts first novel was published in French in book form in 1857. It tells the tale of a doctors wife, Emma Bovary, who has adulterous affairs and lives beyond her means in order to escape the banalities and emptiness of provincial life.
It is regarded by many as one of the most influential novels ever written.
